HOW TO FEEL MISERABLE AS AN ARTIST
- Constantly compare yourself to other artists.
- Talk to your family about what you do and expect them to cheer you on.
- Base the success of your entire career on one project.
- Stick with what you know.
- Undervalue your expertise
- Let money dictate what you do.
- Bow to Societal Pressures.
- Only do work that your family would love.
- Do whatever the client/customer/gallery owner/patron/investor asks.
- Set unachievable/overwhelming goals. To be accomplished by tomorrow.

i like the 3rd one down, it's straightforward & clean. And it says "Erika." it will be a fun one to play with shapes and value.
i agree, the third has the best shapes and is closer to brent's "puzzle for a dumb guy" interesting to look at and has the best shapes. good luck.
Okay, I guess I'm a dork. I think I like the one of you looking out the window drawing the best. I think it's really interesting. But Chris and Cat are right about the shapes in the 3rd one, it's very good as well.
Sarah full of dorkiness!
Just kidding. I think the window one could be interesting if the lighting was nicely done. Man I need to get on this project... the cello piece is not coming together as easily as I had hoped.
Hey hey cat, remember every piece goes through "puberty". That's probably what the cello piece is in right now. I've been working on my self-portrait one, and it's definetly in the puberty phase. I'm trying collage, and it's hard to control....which I guess is half the fun, but it's pretty messy looking right now. Maybe both our pieces will blossom soon. :)
