Any suggestions?
Hello.
Sorry I haven't posted much lately. I just moved again. This time minutes away from the beach :)
So here's the illustration I have been working on. Any suggestions? I tried to clean up the type a bit, but for some reason it is still bothering me... Also what do you guys think of the bottom land area? I think I should gone darker with the foreground and lighter in the background... silly me... I have a couple more days after work to paint on it, so any critique would be cool!
Hope everyone is well. I seem to be more settled now and ready to keep painting.... I am really liking the fabric media.

WOW. I love your use of fabric and all the textures and colors in this. As far as the text goes, I think you should go back in an try to "fatten" some of it up - in places it gets lost in the background a bit and it needs to pop forward more. If you don't totally need the black rectangle at the bottom, I would lose it to give the text more breathing room. When you go in to fix the land area, try to make part of it fairly dark to balance the dark navy stripe in the balloon. Again - LOVE IT!
Fantastic work. I would go darker on the foreground (maybe the shadow of the balloon?) and lighter and brighter on the sky, like a hot summer day. And even lighter on the swirly things, so they stand out on the sky. I was a little confused by the rectangle as well, is some text going to be printing in there? if not then think about losing it. Fun piece.
Yeah the rectangle is for the type :2007 Fall Gala October 7... I might have a little more room though on the cover so I can slice it, paint some more blue and wind swirls and piece it back together which should help separate the sky from the land a bit more.
Unfortunately found out today that their name just changed from CAC to CA and PP, I might paint that separately and work it in on the computer.Shouldn't be too hard to put it in.

that sucks they are changing the name on you!!! should be photoshoppable. Can you get rid of the box and then just typeset the text in the blue area to the right of the grass? And what you said about creating more distance between the land and balloon sounds like a good idea. Thank god for Photoshop, right?
I really love all the fabric in the balloon!! Beautiful!
