how about a necklace or a lacey looking shirt collar or top of your blouse, as far as the background it is fine as it is, just be careful to nit add much more cool notes, it is a warma painting with touches of cools, maybe one more touch of a green or blue-green.

I like Don's suggestion, it would add some interest for sure. The thing that stands out to me is the purple shape on the left (your right cheek). I think the value may be a tad dark, or maybe you just need to pull more of that purple into the background or something to help ground it.
