HOW TO FEEL MISERABLE AS AN ARTIST
- Constantly compare yourself to other artists.
- Talk to your family about what you do and expect them to cheer you on.
- Base the success of your entire career on one project.
- Stick with what you know.
- Undervalue your expertise
- Let money dictate what you do.
- Bow to Societal Pressures.
- Only do work that your family would love.
- Do whatever the client/customer/gallery owner/patron/investor asks.
- Set unachievable/overwhelming goals. To be accomplished by tomorrow.

Tyler, the face on this is sooooo beautiful!! I love some of the colors you included in the skin, and the eyes are really nice. The composition is an interesting one, very dramatic.
What are you painting in??
Thanks, Sarah... this is oil on masonite, 10" x 14.5"
i would like to see this in person tyler. dont we live near one another now? i thought you moved to norther virginia. I am in leesburg. if we are close, we need to get together. no excuses.
Nice Painting Ty. How you been? Back to the swing of things in DC?
I love the depth in the colors... I guess it is the graphic designer in me, cuz the simple open space looks cool too, but if you were ever to put this into context for your portfolio, that space would be great for some simple strong typography.
